Criteria and Procedures

ELIGIBLE STUDENT ATHLETES

1.          Women who are juniors or seniors, and are presently a varsity athlete at their institution.

2.         2004 graduates who played a sport during the spring 2004 season are also eligible.

CRITERIA

1.                   Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

2.         Academic and athletic excellence is essential.

3.         Nominees should be a source of pride to their institutions both on and off the playing arena.  Qualities such as sportsmanship and leadership will be evaluated. The nominee should be a role model for all female athletes.

PROCEDURES

1.          Only two athletes per sport per institution may be nominated.

2.         Information provided by the institution on the nominee should be cumulative and encompass the nominee’s entire collegiate career.

3.         An individual may win the award only once during her collegiate career.
