The NYSWCAA Service Award shall identify persons who have distinguished themselves by having given meritorious service to college women in intercollegiate athletics through athletic administration, coaching, writing, research and/or positions of leadership in NYSWCAA and other professional organizations.
Service Award Criteria:
1. Candidates shall be on or have been on the staff of a member institution.
2. Candidates shall have made a
significant contribution to women's intercollegiate athletics. Areas of
consideration may include: A. Leadership in women's athletics demonstrated
through service to a state, regional or a national athletic association. B.
Service as Championship Director of NYS Championships. C. Contributor or author
of articles or books in the area of competitive sports. D. Recognized competence
in a particular area of competitive sports as exhibited, for example, by
speaking engagements, coaching and/or consultant services. E. Involvement
(initiate, conduct, or assist) with research as it relates to women's athletics.
F. Other significant services, accomplishments, and/or contributions.
